The first part of June was full of work on various house projects, so this June 2024 Happenings will be pretty short! However, the last 10 days of the month was spent on our big summer vacation in Colorado. You can read about it by clicking the link!
Here's what we did manage to do in the first few weeks of June, besides work a ton:
We went in a 10 Day Detox Diet (anti-inflamatory), but because Jac was involved we still ate really well, like:
Also...Jac had a fun time celebrating Father's Day with a ride through the mountains with Quinn and Holly.
Also...the street in front of the house finally got repaved. It needed it! We put up with about three weeks of repairs and noise and rumbling, but the end result looks soooo good!
We continued to fix up the pantry so that both looks cute and houses everything that Jac needs.
And, big big news: June started with my first day summer vacation (since May 31st was the last day for the school year.) But -- it may be more than just a summer off. May 31 might have been my last day of teaching forever. I am taking a year leave of absence to see if I can start up a few online businesses. Its a lot, but heres what we are thinking:
-starting a YouTube channel of Jac's cooking (sharing recipes, money saving tips, travel cooking, country dates...)
-marketing/growing Wined Up in Smoke
-starting a print-on-demand etsy business (mom's blanket idea and maybe some teacher t-shirts)
-selling off a bunch of stuff like Jac's stamps and my book inventory
-maybe someday a microgreens business
Clearly we have no shortage of ideas. :) Here's hoping one or more takes off and this is the beginning of a whole new career path for me, and maybe Jac too in time! :)
And that's it for the first 20 days of June. Slow news month!. :)
