May 2024 Happenings

Here's a brief rundown of what happened in May:

(1) Billy continued to be ADORABLE

(2) Jac built a kick butt lawn tool shed in the carport, solving a TON of storage problems we were having.  Here it is in progress:

Here's what it looks like inside, now that it's done. This is from the side door that Jac added so that we could store the lawn mower and snowblower inside in addition to lawn tools. Such a smart guy!

(3) The plants started to grow, like these peas in the Greenstalk:

And, of course, Billy couldn't stay out of them. (Argh!) Here he is playing with the drip line, trying to flick it out of the pots.  Nice.  Aren't cats supposed to hate water?

It got pretty cold at night in May, so we had to cover the little guys to save their lives.  We're heroes!

(4)  The cats BOTH sat on my lap. Together!  That NEVER happens.  So naturally I had to include this picture here.

(5) Alexa came over and gave Jac a sourdough baking lesson:

 (6)  We had mom over to celebrate Mother's Day. Jac made us a delicious dinner and dessert.  :)

(7) We celebrated my LAST DAY of teaching with a little sushi:

(8) We ate REALLY well all throughout the month:

(9)  We had a mini adventure in Salt Lake City.  We toured six historic homes in the City Creek neighborhood:

And stopped for a little treat Mrs. Backer's Pastry Shop -- an adorable little bakery that's been in business at this location for over 70 years!

(10)  And lastly, were Jamaicans!  We had a mini country date to Jamaica. You can read about it here.
